Advice for the young

Alright so once again there's been a bit of a lull in my posting, there are reasons for that but not ones that I would mention here. Why? Because this is my place where I rant about nothing really in particular to no one specifically and the majority of the stuff I post here won't really give you too much insight as to who I "am". That's what I put in my journal, and if you want to read that you have to ask me and I have to decide that I think you should be able to read it...In other words if I haven't already told where it is, it's VERY unlikely you will ever know.

But alas now on to the actual reason for this blog...

When I say young, I don't mean really young but just those who are barely underage (aka 17). As I've mentioned in multiple posts previous to this one, I work at a liquor store, and every Friday and Saturday night we now get an inflow of teenagers bent on buying alcohol to get drunk. Unfortunately what these people have in determination they more then offset it with a lack of common sense. So I've decided to give advice to all you would be bootleggers and underage drinkers out there to help you in your quest to "drink yourself stupid". Why am I doing this you might ask? Why am I helping people do something that is illegal? Because while I'm amused by the stupidity that some people exhibit, I'm tired of people being mad at me for doing my job. So I will number off some key rules...

1. If you're underage, get someone to boot for you. I don't care how good you think you're fake ID is or how close of a resemblance you think you have to the person in it. It generally won't work and isn't worth the trouble.

2. Don't try to talk the cashier into letting you by. They won't let you by no matter how much you tell them to "be cool", there's a 750$ fine if they sell alcohol to a minor.

3. Any little "trick" you think will work to get the person to not ID you probably won't work. This includes asking if there ae still job openings, leaving your ID in the car, or "assuring" them that your of age (all 3 have been tried on me and failed horribly). I once reiterate the 750$ fine.

4. If you have a friend that's booting for you first of all give him or her the money BEFORE you get to the store, not while he is standing outside the car about to go in and not even IN the car parked out front...Which brings up the next point.

5. Don't park right in front of the store, because yes, they CAN see you and are watching you and your 3 other friends that for some "unexplainable" reason didn't come into the store with you.

6. If you're overage but don't have your ID but are with a friend, DON'T pass them the money for your purchase. That just means that they won't be able to buy anything either. Just have them pay for it then and pay them back later.

I seriously could keep this up for much MUCH longer but I grow bored of it. I hope it helps a bit.
